Background Information and Work History:
<My first work experience was on the family farm in Portland, North Dakota where I grew up. And work it was. Along with farming my family did custom aerial and ground chemical application, custom harvesting of over 10,000 acres some years, tree planting, custom cabinetry building and commercial and home remodeling and building. I have seven years of military experience with the US Navy and the National Guard. Other positions I have held include four years as a facilities manager at the University of North Dakota, and six months in facilities management for American Crystal Sugar. After college I accepted a position with Midland Cooperative where I was a Business Controller for seven years and a General Manager for fourteen years. In 2003 I became a licensed home inspector and started Horizon Home Inspections. In 2005 I obtained my thermographer certification and diversified the company focus to include thermo imaging services.

Education and Awards:
Four Military Service Medals, Three Military Campaign Awards, BS Degree in Business Administration, Certified Loan Officer, National Certification in Property Inspection and Thermography.

Community Involvement:
Eleven years as Business and Finance Manager for Trinity Lutheran Church, Treasurer for the Cooperative Northern Managers Association, Director for the Polk County Fair, Director for the Iowa Propane Association, Southeast Minnesota Association of REALTORS®.

Family:
My wife Linda, three grown children and two stepchildren, two grand children and two small weiner dogs who rule our home.
